How The 2-4-6-8 Diet Works

Q.  Does the 2 4 6 8 Diet work? 
A.  I'm sorry to say no.  You may lose weight at first but not in the long term.



The 2-4-6-8 Diet uses little if any special products or supplements because there is little to no food involved. Basically, the plan advocates eating 200 calories on the first day, 400 on the second, 600 on the third and 800 on the last day before starting at 200 calories again etc.   The goal of the diet is to keep the metabolism at a different rate.

Obviously, the 2-4-6-8 is not healthy but I'm sure that won't stop people from trying it especially after reading positive feed back from women with ED claiming the diet worked for them. 

The 2-4-6-8 is less a diet and more a behavior commonly associated with eating disorders, and in no way or form is actually safe or effective in the long term. 

Starving only causes the body to retain as much food as it can while burning muscle in the place of fat for energy.  Without muscle the metabolism slows and no body wants that..
  • Even at the highest number of daily calories, 800, is not enough cals to live or function on.
  • This diet is really a common symptom of an ED, which are very hard to treat.
  • Anyone attempting the diet over the long term risk death.
  • This diet just doesn't work in the long term so it isn't worth the risk. xo. 
  • Starvation of this nature only makes the person lose muscle mass and other key nutrients.
