The Three Body Types

Wanna know why it’s easy for some people to lose weight while it’s harder for others to keep the rolls at bay? Who’s gonna be thin, be shapely, be muscular or be fat depends on the body type. How much a person weights really does depend on genetics, although diet, and exercise can change this to some degree. The most common body types are mesomorph and endomorph. Some people are purely one body type but that’s rare. Most people lean towards one body types but are still a mixture of two. Identifying your body type(s) can help you understand why your body is the way it is.

There are three basic body types:
· Ectomorphs
· Endomorphs
· Mesomorphs

Ectomorphs: Ectomorphs are those skinny girls and guys who appear to eat as much as they like and never gain weight. They are lean, long and lanky. They have small bones, narrow hips, narrow shoulders, small waist and their legs are longer than their bodies. This is the ideal body for a fashion model. Lots of ectos find it hard to put on weight and may develop health problems over being too skinny. PS, a true ecto is not skinny because she’s suffering from anorexia nervosa. Only a small percentage of the population are pure ectomorphs. The bad part about being ecto is not being able to gain muscle, mainly if you’re a guy but some ectos can be muscular but they remain slim looking. The other bad part about being ecto is not being able to put on weight well. When they gain they tend to gain in the middle and lose their figure and that’s why lots of ectos still watch what they eat and exercise. Ectos also tend to be small-busted and that’s why I believe Giselle Bundchen’s boobs are implants although she says they’re real.

Mesomorphs: Have an athletic frame, even if they donn’t work out. They tend to have muscular arms, muscular legs, a small waist and broad shoulders. Their weight is evenly distributed across their bodies and tend to gain weight around the hips and thighs which is healthier than caring weight around the abdomen, like endomorph. Things are changing and slowly mesos are becoming more popular, but a pure meso is still rare. Meso’s are lucky because their muscle allows them to lose as much weight as an ecto yet they can be very muscular like a meso.

Endomorphs: Unfortunately have a much more difficult time maintaining a healthy weight. Endomorphs are predisposed to gaining weight, and tend to be on the overweight side. They are typically more heavily boned, and carry more fat than muscle. Generally their legs are shorter than their bodies, fat is stored around their stomachs, and their breasts may be larger than "the norm. People of this body type have the hardest time losing weight. Being an endo does not mean it's the end of the world. A healthy weight can still be accomplished. Endo model types are gaining popularity and when people say real women have curves they are referring to endos. The average endo women wears about a size 12-14 or the average size for women in America.

(Note: If you are overweight, that doesn’t necessarily mean you are an endomorph. If you carry weight on top and in your arms and legs, you are probably a mesomorph. If you carry weight all over your torso, you're probably an ectomorph.) This body type is more likely to carry fat naturally, but they do it in a shapely way, in the bosom and butt. This body type can be very sexy but has a tendency to get a lil flabby.
