Fasting For Weight loss


Day 1 to 3 of the fast will be the hardest, but the pain will be caused more by gastric irritation and not true hunger. After day 3 of fasting, hunger is reduced or disappears all together. The earliest benefit of a fast occurs on days 3-5. Days 7-14 will be healing, days 14-21 will be like a euphoric dream and days 21-28 will be nothing short than a complete regeneration of the body.

Without food, the body will use an alternative energy source such as glycogen or stored fat. Once the glucose is reduced in the body the bodies metabolism changes and starts producing ketone bodies. Once a person eats even a single crumb, the bodies metabolism immediately converts back to how it was before and the hunger levels will rise. After the glucose and the stored fat is used up, usually occurring after 28 days, the body will start burning vital tissue or starving. Note that once starvation begins the fast must end.

Water fasting mainly benefits people with a A slow metabolism. Some people can't maintain a healthy weight for their body grows out of control like a cancer and fasting can help because the body will gather more energy to burn more fat. Fasting is also great for people who hate or can't exercise. In fact, one can think of fasting as being like exercise because like exercise it will take a degree of self sacrifice.

If a fast is performed 1 to 3 times annually for 14-28 days, the body will reach a state of health no amount of exercise could ever accomplish. A fast will be a long detoxification that demands mental preparation to carryout, especially if one is going to do a water fast. A juice fast is not as hard as a water fast but the benefits of a water fast is is well worth the pain.

Fasting Crib Notes:

- After day 5 the desire for food will dramatically drop

- After day 10 hunger levels for the most part will be non-existing and energy levels will rise

- Expect to lose at least a pound a day

- Drink 5-10 glasses of water a day

- Stay clear of exercise

- Get rid of headaches by drinking peppermint tea or by taking a potassium supplement

I don't want to come off like I'm judging people who choose to fast but I've been doing cardio and weight training with commitment for 6 months now and there's no way I'd fast. I don't care how much I weigh cause I may gain weight due to gaining muscle which is 20% heavier then fat. I'm into lowering my fat %. I weigh around 120-118 lbs, I'm 5"3. I'm 32-24-32 and know most celebs, fitness models etc are my size although they say they're 15-20 lbs lighter. I need my muscle and want to make more of it so my metabolism will keep going even when I'm not moving. I keep a food diary and I never skip meals and try not to workout too much because I know doing so will set me back. I'd recommend skipping the fast and go for a healthy lifestyle.

yeah they might be your size,i have those measurements, the difference is that they're taller, so proportinately, you're much, much bigger.

Yeah I would be much bigger then someone taller then myself but I was talking about celebs and other personalities that are my height and with the same measurements that claim to be 15-10lbs lighter despite their muscle tone. I believe women lie about their age and weight and that's why we can never know unless they're on a scale.

I hate to break the bad news but muscle weighs the same as fat! It's not as bulky, but 1 lb of muscle weighs the same as 1 lb of fat! Doh, lol!

I fast during the week but usually have to eat on the weekend because I am with my family. Is this a bad method, to eat every five days? Would it be much better to go for the entire 28 days? Also, while fasting I do at least an hour of cardio a day, and I noticed on the list of tips it said to stay clear of exercise, why is that?

I am doing a tea and water fast. I am losing weight but i cant get past day three without eating somthing.. Its hard.. and exercising makes you sooo much more hungery..Its just as hard as exercising but leaner results.

Hi! For the past week or so I've been taking in about 450 calories a day, and only when my parents r watching so they think I'm taking in 2000 a day. I used to think I was hungry, but i never really was, it was an illusion. I never feel hungry any more, so I never feel the need to eat. But, I have taken in this week 3000 calories in 7 days and lost NO weight. Pls rell me y!

i have thought about fasting but eventually i need to eat or i will die and when i need to eat i am going to bloat up. so im doing a different eating cycle, 1 day eating nothing and the next day eating something like a yohgurt or a apple. that way i won't die lol!
also if you do 50 sit ups in the morning it speeds up your metablolism and keeps your stomach in line !
oh an to answer the comment asking why you can't do exercise while fasting its because when you fast you will find your energy drops dramatically after 2 days of eating nothing so you won't be able to anyway.
