In weight loss studies, participants who had been randomly assigned to follow vegetarian or vegan diets lost more weight than those not on vegetarian diets. Those studies were short and typically featured low-fat vegetarian diets. In several studies, participants were asked not to change their exercise habits. That way, their weight loss would have stemmed from diet, not extra exercise. The review also included observational studies, in which participants weren't asked to change their diets. The observational studies showed that up to 6% of vegetarians were obese, compared with 5%-45% of nonvegetarians, and that vegetarians tended to weigh less than nonvegetarians.

Actually you will lose weight faster and with no hunger if you follow Atkins.
Vegetarians eat a lot of fruits (sugar), veggies (carbs) and starches and check their tummies!!! vegans and vegetarians usually have big tummies
What planet are you from? I'm vegan and have NEVER had a big stomach.
Calorie counting and exercising daily will keep anybody thin. Being vegan or a vegetarian will do your body a world of good though.

Stereotypes ! Vegetarians are not eating way much veggies (that are most made of water than carbs) and fruits than people with a really HEALTHY diet. We are eating much than NON HEALTHY diets. And way less fats, and better carbs...
I'm vegan. I'm under 95pounds for 5'1, toned, never hungry, and health optimal.
If you know how to eat on a good way, there is NO problems with being vegan.
Vegetarian includes more "bad" fat (cheese, eggs) than vegan diet (more vegetal fats), but can be good eather.
