What Cardio Machine Will Get You Skinny!

Exercise helps us lose weight in two different ways. First, it causes the muscles to do more work. Second, it enlarges our muscles and raises the amount of calories we burn while resting.

here are two basic types of exercise: aerobic and anaerobic.
Aerobic AKA cardio means "with oxygen". Aerobic exercise require oxygen to be delivered to the muscles. Aerobic activities (eg. walking, jogging, swimming, jumping rope, roller-blading, rowing and general sports like football and tennis) burn a lot of calories.

Anaerobic means "without oxygen" so anaerobic exercise like weight training don't rely on oxygen for fuel.

Combine Aerobic and Anaerobic Exercise
The ideal calorie-burning training program involves a combination of both these types of exercises. You can do cardio approximately 40 minutes cardio and 20 minutes weight-training, or do aerobics one day and weights the next.

What to Eat Before Exercising
Always eat 3-4 hours before exercise. Your best choice is low-fat meal, with foods like breakfast cereal, fruit, low fat yogurt, fruit juice, brown bread, spinach pasta and brown rice. Avoid fried food and other high-fat options.

Sports Drinks Can Be High Calorie.
Ssports drinks typically have high calories and aren't needed unless you are exercising vigorously for more than one hour at a time. Drink water instead.

What to Eat After Exercising
Again, low-fat meals. If your the type that can't eat after an execise, that's fine but don't exercise within 12 hours unless you've replenished your body for until you recharge you'll end up being too tired to exercise.

Which cardio exercise or machine burns the most calories?
Note: this is for a 145 lb person for 30 minutes.

Step aerobics or Step machines -burn approx. 400 cals.

Bicycling - stationary depending on resistance & speed burn 250 to 500 cals.

Swimming - Doing the breast stroke burn approx. 400 cals.

Racquetball - burns over 400 cals

Rock Climbing - burn up to 380 cals

Skiing - burn approx 330 cals

Running on the Treadmill- burn 300 cals

Elliptical Trainer - burn about 300 cals

Rowing - burn 300 cals

Walking - burn about 180 cals

The thing about cardio is that you have to vary it up. If you want to "get skinny" then you have to switch up the cardio, add interval training. It's really important that you find something you enjoy for cardio because it is such an important part of fitness training.
